1/27 Black Abbey Book Club Kicks Off 2026 Reading List with The Hobbit

Nashville breweries continue to stretch beyond the pint, and Black Abbey Brewing Company is doing just that with the launch of its 2026 Book Club reading list.

The Black Abbey Book Club meets monthly at the brewery and pairs literature with beer in a relaxed, welcoming setting. The series opens on January 27 at 6:00 pm with a discussion of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, setting the tone for a year that leans into fantasy, science fiction, history, and fiction.

Rather than functioning like a rigid book club, the gatherings are designed to be accessible. Readers meet in the taproom, share conversation at their own pace, and enjoy a beer while talking through the book. Sign-ups are available online or in-store.

The full 2026 reading list spans genres and eras, including selections like The Crystal Cave, Foundation, Brave New World, Hyperion, Flowers for Algernon, and a two-part reading of Outlander. Each meeting takes place at Black Abbey Brewing at 2952 Sidco Drive and begins at 6:00 pm.
