Bearded Iris Acquired by Wiseacre Brewing
Memphis-based Wiseacre Brewing has acquired one of Nashville’s most well-known craft breweries, Bearded Iris, according to recent beer board filings reported by the Nashville Business Journal.
Wiseacre, founded in 2013 by brothers Davin and Kellan Bartosch, is headquartered in Memphis and operates three taprooms in the city. Its flagship beers include the award-winning American pilsner Tiny Bomb and hazy IPA Bow Echo.
Bearded Iris, known for beers like Homestyle IPA, Pep Talk lager, and Wavecraze Tropical IPA, has been a staple of Nashville’s beer scene since 2014. The brewery was founded by Kavon Togrye, Paul Vaughn, and Matt Miller, and currently runs two taprooms — one in Germantown at 101 Van Buren Street and another at Sylvan Supply (4101 Charlotte Ave, Suite 40).
Both locations were included in the reported ownership transfer to Wiseacre. As of now, no formal announcements have been made regarding changes to branding, leadership, or operations.
