East Nashville’s Honeytree Meadery Launches Food Drive to Support Local Families

In the heart of East Nashville, Honeytree Meadery is stepping beyond the bar to support its neighbors. The city’s first meadery, located at 918 Woodland St., has launched a long-term food drive to help fight food insecurity across Davidson County and the greater Cumberland River Basin.

Honeytree is collecting shelf-stable grocery items — including canned soups and beans, dry pasta and rice, peanut butter, oatmeal, cereal, baby food, beef jerky, protein bars, ramen, and applesauce. Donations can be dropped off directly at the meadery, and Honeytree’s team will deliver them to community organizations serving vulnerable populations.

Across Tennessee, more than 700,000 residents — including over 300,000 children — face food insecurity, according to Feeding America. Honeytree’s grassroots effort comes at a critical moment, reinforcing how small local businesses can help fill the gaps when families need support most.

This isn’t the meadery’s first act of service. Known for its community-minded ethos, Honeytree has organized donation drives following tornadoes, hurricanes, and other crises affecting Middle Tennessee. Their mission — Economy + Ecology + Education — connects local agriculture, sustainability, and collective care.

By turning their space into a donation hub, Honeytree once again proves what East Nashville does best: showing up for one another.
